I am getting a Basset Hound puppy who will be AKC registered, any AKC name ideas?!?
I haven't got my dog yet, he is still too little but will be home within a few weeks!
Our Basset Hound is a little boy and is AKC registered so we need an AKC name for him. We have decided to call him Hank 
) Any ideas for his full name?
We are getting a puppy because I am off work for the summer and am able to stay home to train him. I also wanted it really little. I had looked at the Humane Society before putting the deposit down on the puppy but hadn't found anything of interest.
I'm starring this so Bassetnut will see it and chime in!!!
My personal favorite names are song names and album names.... so maybe a nice Hank williams tune?

Personally- HonkyTonk Man (which Hank Williams was) would be a go for me.
Edit: RK- AKC names can be whatever the owner or breeder wants them to be- I've seen some darned cute names.. Lilac Crazy (lie like crazy)- her daughter "Lil White Lies" her grandson out of "Lil White Lies" "White Lies and BlckMle"--- and of course there was Hots Hit (they moved the s from the last part of the name to the first)... and who can forget the legendary Wisconsin dog Moonlighter's Ima Bark Star?? (and the plethora of Ima names he beget). (of course you may be too young to recall Bart Starr the Green Bay quarterback.. and so may not get the joke).

Basset hound owners - Need Help?
So today I will be taking an unchanged 2 years AKC registered basset hound male of a family without a fence. I explained that Barney likes bolt the door and escape at any given opportunity so that you can go visit the neighbors, etc. I know that this is part of a common thing with dogs basset, who like to wander if something intriguing .... but is there any way of training him, not jump through the front door. I have a fenced-in backyard, but still want a little less anxious to jump the gates. Also I read that you need to clean the ears once a week? Should I go to the vet to pick up this solution? The best food the dog for him?

There are a lot of different training methods, the most of them well represented here in the dogs section YA ... Ear cleaning: You can make a solution at home. This post as a separate Q and I'm writing some of the variations that I use for my Landseer ECT and large Munsterlander:. Consider food to feed raw food.
