AKC and Border Collies???????
Ok I am not understanding why many BC people don't like AKC.
I get that they don't like that BC are losing their function but is it the AKC that doing it or is it the show breeders that aren't breeding for both or is it a little of both?
I am mainly asking this because I am bored, but also because I have been wondering.

BCs aren't my breed but my understanding of it is the ABCA was against AKC acceptance because once a breed is accepted AKC you start running into problems with people breeding only for appearance with no regard to working ability. You start getting dogs that look pretty but coudn't herd sheep to save their lives. The ABCA didn't want the breed to loose its working ability and just become a pretty face. Those that wanted AKC acceptance split into the BCSA and sought and gained AKC acceptance. Since they you can definally see the major split between the working line ABCA Border Collies and the show line AKC Border Collies. The ABCA will acutally cancel the ABCA registration of any dog that is acceives an AKC confirmation championship.
No it isn't the AKC that causes the problem it is breeders that breed for appearance with no regard for the working ability of the dog they are breeding. The problem the ABCA has with the AKC is that it promotes confirmation with out regard to working ability.
