Akc Pet Insurance Q&A
BSL- Shar Pei's and Tosa's?
Where I live, there is a Breed Specific Law stating that AmStaff, PitBull Terriers, Shar-Pei, and Tosa owners must have a specific insurance on their pet...... I have never heard of such aggression from a Shar Pei, and what is a Tosa?! (sorry, I know most AKC registered breeds, and never heard of this!)
Okay, so I found this--Of the SHAR-PEI he states, "Shar-Pei are quarrelsome with other dogs, and tend to be one-person dogs. Also note that the dogs do not transfer well to second homes--consider this breed carefully".
It also mentioned Chow Chows....
I'm sorry to hear this, but the insurance is worth it.I meet a few Shar Pei dogs, and these dogs deeply hate other animals. My husband had to basically pry off a Shar Pei from a beagle. The owner of the Shar Pei just stood there.
The beagle was badly bitten. The Shar Pei owner tried to get in her(yes a woman) car and leave! The insurance should cover things like this:unprovoked attack of other dogs, and veterinary care for the mauled dog.Chow Chows are the same.Akitas are dog aggressive too.Shiba Inus are smaller, but just as aggressive towards dogs.

Akc Pet Insurance Q&A
Can I rec commend a good pet insurance?
I'm looking for very good coverage for less than $ 50 a month I have an old c / 2yr. bernard? I've looked at Banfield and AKC, but I'm confused on which one is best or whether there are more out there
My recommendation is .. Put the money to pay .. in a savings account .. for the dog .. for a large dog .. budget of at least $ 1500 per year for veterinary expenses .. Pet insurance is a good idea .. and works for some people .. but not really a money saver for homeowners .. that spreads out some of the costs .. so it works for some people .. Note that only cover a percentage of the cost .. and still have to pay the vet when services are provided .. then send and wait for their money .. Because you still have to reach the initial costs .. and does not cover 100% most cases, if you really want to make the most of your money .. just put aside the money in the first place .. Also pet insurance has a lot of exclusions .. for dieases genitic .. and this is the most common health concern in dogs .. Banfi insurance is only good in other clinics Banfield .. NO emergency facilities .. and has been a lot of reports on the BBE on homeowners who lose their coverage at a Banfield clinic when they move .. because it did not transfer .. and a lot of "extra" things that insurance does not cover .. In general, in a strict cost analysis .. save the same money .. is less expensive .. and money spent better .. then pay a monthly premimum .. and then only get a percentage of the cost of new .. Most companies Insurance costs are not covered by that is close to the actuall cost of emergency procedures routier many veterinary care and medications .. so you end up paying all months .. then just get some money back from them for the cost .. Just my two cents .. Amanda
