I have a male (non-registered) and a female pug (AKC-registered), will I be able to register their offspring?
If not, is there an alternative way to register the puppies?
Wow!!! A lot of angry answers to my question, I am not looking to make any money on these puppies if I breed them. I was looking to donate the puppies to kids and othe patients who are starting the remission process after their cancer treatment, whether it'd be chemo or radiation, since my first pug was given to me when I started my remission process. I just wanted to donate healthy, registered puppies. And yes I have money aside for a c-section, if I do decide to breed them, I have done some research on breeding them.
Because I want to make sure I donate them to someone who is going to care for them in the long run, I will make every effort to make sure of it. I love my pugs and have taken good care of them, they are up-to-date on their shots and get routine check-ups. And yes I am willing to take them back if there were any problems,
No you can not.
Both parents need to be registered with the AKC for the pups to be registered. You have no proof your male is in fact a purebred.

Alternatively you could register with one of the junk registries that puppy millers and back yard breeders use. If you don't have AKC registration on your male pug you do not have any information on his background, and he should not be bred.

Person using the winking face for a name- CKC will register a frog as a poodle if you pay them. Any registration that will register a dog without papers is excatly what I was speaking of in my last addition; a registration for back yard breeders and puppy millers.

Have you thought about giving the people you want to donate them to a gift card to your local animal shelter instead? Breeding costs a lot of money, and if you give them an adoption card they can get a dog or pup that suits them, you'll more than likely spend less money (You WILL spend less money if you go about the breeding process in the proper manner. Breeding is expensive!), and you can feel good that their getting a dog AND saving a life at the same time.
