Are purebred puppies that are registered under the AKC only from licensed sellers, not puppymills?

I'm wondering if AKC registered puppies are only from licensed sellers, not puppymills, because Im thinking that maybe if I buy an AKC puppy, were less likely to be buying from a puppymill... anyways thank you for any help or resources
Im in student congress and we are doing a debate on a resolution to shut down puppy mills and I think that proposing regulations to the AKC and 'CKC' to also help prevent puppymills wouldn't be a half bad idea

All a puppy needs to be "AKC" is ONE ancestor that was registered.

So, puppy millers buy dogs that have been registered with the AKC and breed them until they drop dead, and every single puppy is legally registered at the AKC.

AKC doesn't even mean pure bred anymore.

If you breed an AKC poodle to and AKC cocker spaniel, you get AKC cock-a-poos.

Basically, the AKC doesn't care what puppies it registers. Just as long as they get their registration fee. No one checks. No one cares.

Reputable breeders don't have a litter until there's a big enough waiting list of people who want all the potential puppies. There are none left to advertise online.

Reputable breeders show their dogs in conformation shows or they compete in breed specific trials. (Example: Boarder Collies breeders will breed dogs only after they win herding competitions.) *This is the difference between a reputable breeder and a back yard breeder* People who care about bettering the breed will compete and PROVE they have the best breeding stock.

Reputable breeders work with 1 breed. Maybe 2. Any more and no one gets proper care and socialization.

Reputable breeders will welcome you into their homes and let you see everything. Beware of breeders that keep certain animals "behind the scenes". You want to know exactly what these folks are hiding.

Reputable breeders have references from people that currently own their dogs. Always check references.
