Buying a Japanese Akita Inu puppy?
In Australia, the Japanese Akita is not recognised as a different breed from the American Akita. Therefore, all the breeders I can find sell the American variety, which I don't like. It is the same for the US, UK and Canada. Can anyone give me a website or breeder that sells Japanese Akitas (NOT American, which have dark facial markings)? It doesn't have to be in Australia. Please don't give me dogzonline, etc, I need a direct website rather than a search engine. Thanks!
Actually, the UK have recognized the Japanese Akita as a seperate breed since 2005!

http://the-jaca.org/ Japanese Akita Club of America. There are quite a few dedicated breeders in the US, trying hard to get them recognized as a seperate breed.

Where I can find Akita inu breeders in the UK?
I have benefited from research into Japanese Akita Inu dog, and I would buy one at some point in the future. But all Akita breeders in UK seems to be raising the American Akita. I'd much prefer the Japanese race, but I can not find a breeder. (I understand that is registered as the same race in some countries)
In the Kennel Club website - (click on your location) Ahh ... http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/services/public/psar/Default.aspx?breed=4223 the only breeder recognized by the KC is http:// www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/services/public/acbr/Default.aspx?breed=Japanese+ Bristol Akita Inu + - I would contact with this person, see if you have any litters at the time or know of another good breeder in the UK that is closest to you?!
