i have a 9mth akita puppy that has started tearing up my crouches and i want to cage him during the day?
i want to kennel my akita puppy 9mth during the day when i am at work so that he wont tear my crouch up anymore is that ok for me to lock him up. he never been lock up before but i just want to make sure he will be ok if i leave a water bowl and some toy in there for him
i am going to leave him in the cage just during day so i can work and when i get home in will be out, we going to the dog park everyday about hour for him to run and play with other dogs. on the weekend he will be out unless i go to the store and at night he will be out he doesnt mess with nothing when i am here i just want to make sure he will be ok and also when i got the cage home in when in and i lock the gate and he did fine
Yes, it is a good idea to crate your Akita puppy when you’re gone. Your Akita puppy is getting bored, so since you’re not there to supervise him, he’s entertaining himself with tearing up anything that looks nice to him… like your couch. You can get a baby gate to keep your Akita out of certain rooms, but he could learn to jump over it. Crates are safer because you will know that your Akita isn’t destroying anything in your house and that he isn’t getting into anything dangerous that might hurt him.
You should get a wire crate for your puppy. Wire crates aren’t fashionable, but the closed in crates (the Kennel crates that aren’t made of wire) are used for traveling. You want to get a crate that is big enough for you puppy to stand and turn around in completely, but small enough so that he doesn’t have accidents.
Since he hasn’t been crate trained before, start over the weekend. He should be fine once he gets used to his crate.
When you bring the crate home, let your puppy explore it and praise him for doing so. Put a couple of treats in his crate. When he seems comfortable with it, put him in for a few minutes at a time and leave the room. If he starts to cry, ignore him. I know it's hard because puppies sound so pitiful when they cry but it is the only way he will stop! Your puppy wants you to come and take him out of his crate. The hard part is that when he cries you HAVE to ignore him. If you give in and take him out of his crate, he will learn that crying gets someone to come to him and he will start to do it ALL the time. Never use his crate to punish him. His crate should be a nice place for him to stay in safely and he should feel like that he can go in and out of his crate whenever he wants to when your home.
You can’t put a water bowel in his crate because it will just tip over, but you can get a special dog water bottle, to attach to his crate. You can get these water bottles at Petsmart. This is a great way to make sure you dog always has water available to him, without the mess of a water bowel!
You will have to train your Akita to use the water bottle, but that shouldn’t be a problem! Show your Akita the bottle and push the little ball that will let the water out. Show him that there is water in there. If he seems interested, then encourage him to lick the bottle. Once he realizes that he can get water by licking the bottle, he will use it all the time when he’s in his crate!
I don’t’ recommend that you put toys in his crate. He is a puppy, and if he destroyed the toy, he might choke on the squeakers, rattlers, etc. that’s in the toy. Even if he doesn’t destroy toys it is still a big hazard. Don’t keep his collar on in the crate either! You can’t take a chance that the collar might get hooked onto something and choke him to death!!
If you’re gone for more than six hours, have a friend come and give him bathroom breaks.

HELP! my dog akita need ur help !!!!?
So I have a akita puppy 4 months old, but she is not allowed inside to keep it in the garden, we also have a nursery for her but they never go into it, I now have it inside to throw the question, but THN she just goes out later. I want to go inside the cage when bad weather oustise but she sleeps on the grass, even in the rain! help! I have also tried to push inside, but dident work. the only way is to force and to block the door and I will not do it that way. Ok guys listen to comments about letting the interior is usless and she is a dog i want two know how I can get your Iside or sleeping inside the cage!
Either get over it and taking it home when it rains or give to someone who is willing to protect a puppy of 4 months from the elements.
