How long does an American Airlines reservation on hold last for?
I would like to reserve a flight so that I can pay for it at the airport. The flight is this Sunday. so when do I make the reservation so it does not expire? thanks. here is the link to see the rules:

For AA and most other airlines, a flight has many different fare structures, even if you are sitting in coach.
For most inexpensive fares, they must be purchased 24 hours after reserving. To reserve a fare that does not require advance purchase, you will usually pay a much higher price. Sometimes certain routes don't have these restrictions, but often they do.
You may not be able to get a reasonable fare if you reserve the day before travel. It is a gamble. Try this: Go through aa reservations as if you are taking that flight tomorrow. See what fares come up, and whether they would let you save the reservation or force you to purchase it. Don't worry, until you enter a credit card number, you aren't committing to buying anything. It will give you some idea of what to expect if you try to do that when you really want to go (though you won't know for sure about last-minute availability)
