question about this American Eagle Credit Card?

so I recently went to American Eagle place to purchase some clothes and there offered me to sign up for a credit card, I had no previous credit history and I thought you had to meet specific qualifications to even get a credit card, but all they made me do was sign some papers and it will be mailed to me within 5-7 days. Now my question is rather or not this is an regular credit card because this is my first time ever getting something like this and I didn't know american eagle had these cards. what are the pros of having this and what are the cons?

It is probably a card for use at the American Eagle only - in store or online.

Pros - if you use it wisely, it will be a positive tradeline on your credit report.

Cons - you will spend more at AE than you might have otherwise spent if you used just cash.

Be careful of using credit cards. They can be a wonderful tool, but if used irresponsibly, they can be a nightmare.
