!!!Help!!! DOG WITH DIABETES !!!!!!?
I have a dog with diabetes and she is a american Eskimo and poodle(mixed). she got diagnosed in november of 2008, and it broke my heart.
when the vet told me that i had to give her insulin twice a day it made it worse. i felt so bad for my dog and i felt like it was my fault. is there anything else i can give my dog besides insulin. it just hurts me to have to pinch her side twice a day for the rest of her life.
(the products have to be able to get in toronto, canada or just in ontario)

Sometimes, when you're "the parent" you need to put aside your feelings and do what's right. You push through the pain and guilt and you "cowboy up" and deal with it. Tell yourself your dog counts on you and you can't let her down.
If your dog's disease needs injections, really, there's nothing else for it. If there was an alternative, your vet would offer it to you.
Try this. Scroll down and read about "transdermal gels". It's worth asking your vet about, but generally, they don't tell you to stick a needle in your pet unless it's really, really necessary.
