Do any show/clubs recognize the American Pit Bull Terrier?

Do any breed associations (i.e. American Kennel Club or other such groups) recognize the American Pit Bulll Terrier? Are they able to participate in any major Dog Shows?

I am wondering because if there are any, I want to watch one of those shows! (I love Pit Bulls)

UKC and ADBA have many APBT events such as sports and conformation. AKC recognizes the breed under a different name the American Staffordshire Terrier. They are both pit bull types.

EDIT: They ARE the same breed crated the same way. UKC made the APBT a breed in the 1800's and then in the 1930s AKC later on recognized under a different name the american staffordshire terrier. The are FEW differences one of which the APBT was bred for work and the amstaff was bred for show. You can get an amstaff and register it under the UKC as a APBT.

"In 1898 the United Kennel Club was formed with the express intent of providing registration and fighting guidelines for the now officially-named American Pit Bull Terrier. Later, those who wished to distance themselves from the fighting aspect of the breed petitioned the American Kennel Club for recognition of the Pit Bull so that it would be eligible for dog shows and other performance events. The AKC conceded in 1936 but only under the stipulation that the dogs registered with them be called "Staffordshire Terriers", the name of the province in England the breed supposedly originated in. Upon acceptance of the breed, many people dual-registered their dogs with both the AKC and the UKC. "
