New puppy!!!!! What do I do first?
There are austrailian cattle dog/blue heeler mix puppies at my pound!! I love herding breeds and that was exactly what I was looking for. I really hope we get to get one tomorrow but I was wondering... what do I start with? When I get him/her home what do I do first? The only other dog I've ever had, when we got him I was little so all I wanted to do was pet him but now I actually care about how we train him and stuff so what do I do first and then where do I got from there?? THANKS!
oh also these breeds need lots of mental stimulation and since we don't live on a farm for him to her sheep what can I do with him?
crate train absolutely!!!! or youd better invest in a good carpet steamer
give it a little bed, a food bowl, and if you can one of those water dispensers you put on the outdoor faucets(its called a licker i think)
watch some cesar milan too so you understand the proper temperment to have a healthy relationship w your dog
