For anyone that has sponsored a dog, or volunteered at a shelter / rescue..?

LEGIT!! Have you ever gotten so attached to one of the dogs, that you just had to take him/her home?
I had been sponsoring a dog (RJ) at my local shelter since late october. He is a beautiful 2 year old Australian Cattle dog / Shepherd mix. My family and I were starting to think about adopting him. 2 weekends ago, I brought my dog to come meet my sponsor dog, but RJ had thankfully been adopted.
So long story short, Unfortunately today I get a call from the shelter and It turns out my original sponsor dog was brought back.
RJ is a bit food aggressive. The family who adopted him ignored that fact and fed RJ and their original dogs all together. RJ and their original dogs got into a fight.Now I am considering taking RJ. He really is a wonderful dog, but needs proper training and time which I am willing to give him.
oooooor im starting some volunteering work this year at my local vets and we have one labrador and was considering another dog from a shelter and my dog went to the vets today with my mum and now wer on the bosses list of contacts for labradors that he helps from the shelters, but they are so lovely im so glad that your there to take the dog in and i am sure you'll do a great job and i am sure you will help another in a few years ! lol good luck with RJ
