Australian Kelpie Dog Breeders In Texas Q&A

Finding breeders of Australian Kelpies?

I'm interested in investing in another dog, and I'd like to purchase an Australian Kelpie, but I'm having a hard time tracking down reputable breeders.

I want a dog from proven working lines, of any age, gender, or color since they will be strictly for work and not breeding. I'd preferably like them to be located in Texas. Any help?

Try the AKC website (I dont know about the American one but the Australian one has listed breeders that are proper breeders otherwise they would of never been listed). Alot of really good breeders are also known to be 'Private' and you would probably only hear about some of them via 'Mouth and Ear'. Its how we heard about the Rottweiler breeder we got our dog off. One of the best leading breeders in the state but was a Private listed Pedigree ANKC Registered Breeder or whatever the hell its called. Or just ask your local vet, breeders usually send emails etc etc to vets and ask them to pass on the info. Even look to Shelters? Or go to Show dog and ask around, sometimes breeders will actually be there because they're nominated for Breeders awards. But yeah, its a matter of doing research and asking around to get the quality of dog with the blood lines and everything.
