Average Price Of Bichon Frise Dog Q&A
Should I get a bichon frise?
I really want a dog since mine died about several months ago. The only problem that I'm concerned about in getting one is that I will be away at school for about 8 hours or so and I know that bichon frises can suffer from anxiety. But, my grandma could come in between to let her out to do her business. Also, I have heard that they are hard to train. How hard is it to do? Also, what is crate training? Oh and one more thing, how should I convince my parents to let me have a dog? I don't want tell them about the whole "it will make me more responsible" stuff like that. There excuse is that they are hard to train and they don't want to suffer going through a death of another dog. Please help!
P.S. Whats the average or fair price of a bichon frise?
Bichons are not hard to train- they are extremely intelligent BUT they are stubborn.
We only leave ours alone for three and a half hours a day. They keep each other company but need to go out to do their business.
Tell your parents the truth- ie that you miss not having a dog. In dog terms bichons live very long. They don't take up much space/ eat much or require a lot of exercise. Nor do they need a massive garden. As a breed they are quite healthy
They are adorable, friendly. loving, sociable little people. Generally with a great temperament. They can sulk though if you dont show them enough attention. Ours sleep on our bed. They tend not to smell or shed hair, for this reason they tend to be more asthma friendly. They are happiest siting on your lap being stroked and cuddled. Inspite of their size they can make great guard dogs- our first barked as someone was trying to break into our home on night. It was enough to scare him off- amuses me to think of a big burly burglar being scared off by a teeny bundle of fluff.
Their fur is the softest of all dogs, it is difficult to not stroke them.
On the downside they are very high maintenance with regard to brushing the coats, Of course this depends on the length of their coats.
Like most white dogs they are prone to tear staining- not all though. This is not an issue though if you add a pinch of the natural tear stain remover Angels Delight from Bichon Hotel. Don't use Angels Eyes unless you actually want to give your dog antibiotics.
The female bichons can be quite yappy, males less so.
You will be constantly be stopped in the street by people wanting to stroke them and then asking if it is a poodle!!!!!
The primary problem is that once you get one you will want another!!
That is why we have three!!!
