Have a dog that is aggressive towards the other. We're going to kennel the one dog while on vacation and......?
..leave the other at home with my brother. We just don't want to have someone else deal with a dog fight if they get in one while we're not home.
My question is, the aggressive one that will be kenneled on vacation (former puppy mill dog- we rescued her)- HOW do we reintroduce the two after we get back from vacation. Shoudl we both be in the backyard with them or something instead of in the house? We're afraid of this scenario...

I would put both dogs on a leash and have one person stand on one side of the yard with one of the dogs and someone else stand with the other dog on the other side of the yard and very slowly with lots of treats for every time that they act nice to each other, slowly get closer and closer until both dogs are comfortable. If there is aggression use body blocking. What you do if one of the dogs barks or lunges at the other use your body to block there view of the other dog. This will take a while if the dog is really being aggressive, but if every time you show the dog that if he gets aggressive hes not going to even look at the other dog than he should calm down. Remember to send calm vibes to your dogs while doing this and lots of treats to show them when there doing the right thing.
