Looking for *REPUTABLE* bernese mountain dog breeders!!!
I am looking for a REPUTABLE Bernese Mountain Dog breeder and am having trouble finding one that has puppies... I live in Dallas, TX, but am willing to travel in the US to get one. Does anyone know of any breeders that have a current litter??
Please feel free to email me and I can point you towards a few breeders. I breed Bernese on an occassional basis.
When buying a Bernese Mtn Dog make sure both parents are listed on http://www.bernergarde.org/home/default.aspx Through some vary basic research on that site you can look at not only the parents but multiple levels of related dogs... And with a bit of work can calculate the average AOD (Age of Death) of the dogs in various lines. This is important as some lines do tend to live longer than others.
You can also do some research on OFA at http://www.offa.org/ OFA has vertical pedigrees which can assist you in researching certain lines of dogs.
Please realize that time spent researching the breed as well as the potential lines you may buy from is crucial.
