What breed of dog would be good for us?
Hi,
We live on a 1700 acre farm in rural sask, canada. It snows here so we need a big dog with long fur. but not too much fur, we also get warm summers. We need somthing affectionate, but a watch dog also. And a dog that is good with other animals, especially small ones.
We tried a Bernese Mountain dog breeder, but the breeder said they like to sleep inside instead of outside??? I was shocked by this. is that true?
We just need a good farm dog thats easy to love

Great Pyrenees, Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Alaskan Malamute, Samoyed, Siberian Husky, St. Bernard, Border Collie, Golden Retriever.
Most dogs prefer to sleep inside with their family, but over the years I have noticed that Alaskan Malamutes and Samoyeds, (both sled dogs) are willing to sleep outside, with proper shelter.
