Bach remedies has anyone been recommended to use them and what results did you Have?
I have a very nervous bernese mountain dog and an animal behaviourest that i am seeing has recommended trying both larch and mimulus bach remedies, I was wondering if anyone has used these in a simular situation and what results they got from using them
We have had the dog as a pup so know he hasn't been miss treated, he is now 2 and a half yrs old he is really confident with family members its just strangers that he backs away from. he hasn't been hit at all by a stranger
I would say it's worth a try, especially if your behaviorist has recommended it. I haven't tried the larch or mimulus, but I have used rescue remedy on several occasions with mixed results. It seems to work really well for cats but dogs seem to be hit or miss with that particular product. I can say that it does work well for people (at least it works well for me) and while I didn't really notice a huge difference in my own dog (I was really stressed myself the few times I've used it on her) others have said they noticed a change. And a close friend has used it with great results on her own dog.
Bach remedies are not going to solve your problem, but they may help relax your dog enough to make the behavioral modification training more effective.
