what are some good hiking or active dog breeds?
we have been considering mini aussies and blue heelers, but i was wondering if there are any other particularly good ones. we need a dog that is relatively small and easy to care for, but can go hiking and on long walks without getting tired too quickly. any information helps, thnx 
i mean small like a mini aussie if possible, but definitley not anything smaller. i was shooting more for not huge and difficult to contain or restrain if needed
A mini Aussie is not a breed. Often times they come with many behavioral and health problems from being poorly breed.
Hiking usually means rugged terrain, and a whole day of walking rather than an hour or two strolling in the park. So finding the perfect breed is essential...
You honestly need a short haired dog(usually fleas and ticks are more so a problem from hiking/hunting dogs), who has high endurance, energy, and is obedient.
My recommendations would be..
Boxer
Pit Bull
German Short hairs
Coonhounds
Basenji (would best fit you size)

so today my friend has a new puppy told me that he got from a guy who was selling puppies on the side of the road. She said the man who sold his dog was a red heeler ... I've never heard of a red heeler that I've heard of blue heelers but the red ... Then she told me that the guy said that was half blue and red heeler .... What do you think your mutt right? The mix two? IDK can also give me some information about red heeler breed as it is difficult to train, level activity ... and such thanks. u guys a lot! ♥

This is a herding dog bred to work cows, hitting his head and heels in cows, therefore, when the nickname red or blue heeler came are very stubborn and intelligent. The dog is very high drive. They need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation and are not addicted to television. Require dedication to not get bored. cattle dogs is also known for biting, grazing trends and be strong and barking. I would suggest your friend get into a class Dog obedience as soon as you can you can learn how to deal with these behaviors. Search also in dog sports like flyball, agility or livestock or some activity to keep your dog occupied.
