Are Boxers and Bull-mastiff's good family dogs ? Do they really drool & snore a lot and are gassy ?
I was planning to get either of one, but people are discouraging me, saying that they will drool and gas a lot and are messy..
Boxers and Bullmastiffs do and will drool. The shape and positions of those jowls say it all. Such features of the two breeds may not be the only two reasons as to why people are being so discouraging towards them. Both require only the most experienced owners who know how to deal with and handle situations when it comes to possible cases of aggression and stubbornness.
Boxers in particular are quite the clown of all dogs. You must have owned quite a few before and learned your stuff before even thinking about taking home such a complicated breed. Gas is gas, just as with any dog. No more, no less.. it's all an average really. Rumours come and they go.
Though they are well known breeds for being the more destructive of the group. Bullmastiffs tend to loose interest in activities quite quickly and do not do well when left alone for long hours. If you do not leave this dog with something to do, your house will look like a nuclear bomb just hit when you enter the room.
Don't let others opinions get in your way. Live your dreams. I know many people try to discourage me from wanting to someday own a Dobermann Pinscher or even become a Dog Aggression behaviourist. Do your research and go for it!

I have a 9 year old English Mastiff, and am debating if I have a Bulldog. I've always been a Bulldogs fan and I'm hoping that the two races are well. thanks
Does the Mastiff get along with other dogs in general? Please note just because your dog gets along well with other dogs, does not mean he wants to share their home with another. If you are thinking about adopting, consider building first to see how it goes. If you are buying from a reputable breeder, explain the situation and be able to recommend how to handle the situation.
