I own a purebred CKCS. I spent A LOT of time finding a breeder I felt comfortable with. THe CKCS is prone to SO many genetic conditions, that good breeding is a MUST. The problem with breeders who purposefully mix breeds is that they rarely health test their dogs. So you are breeding a potentially unhealthy cavalier to a potentially unhealthy papillon. The mix has a HIGHER chance of having a genetic condition. The Cavalier conditions are BIG ONES. Syringomyelia is a horribly painful condition which is fatal to the dogs. Heart mumurs and other defects are also common. As are luxating patellas.
As someone who cares about dogs, please think twice about a cavalier mix. Or any mix for that matter. Do not encourage people to produce more of these dogs by paying for them. Buy a purebred from a reputable breeder OR adopt a mix from a shelter or rescue.
