Can malamute puppies live with cats?
We're looking into buying a dog, because i've ALWAYS wanted one and we were going to get a king charles cavalier dog, but we just got home from a holiday and passed a sign saying MALAMUTE PUPPIES FOR SALE! (the sign was in gympie) andd, we're probs moving to gympie. I've read up on them and it says that they see smaller animals as 'prey', and i already have a cat. I just want to know is it possible for malamute puppies and cats to live together? Or will he just eat my cat?
It is possible. Anything is possible. But, it is incredibly unlikely for a malmute, husky, or other northern breed to live with cats. Cats tend to dart when they get scared and as soon as they do this the dog is likely to bolt after them and can kill them before you're able to do anything. I have two cats and I absolutely love malamutes, but would never own one as long as I have my cats. It's too risky and since my cats were here first and are my priority, it would be irresponsible and unfair to them.
