anybody know what the characteristics of an afghan hound and a blue heeler mix?
My neighbor is trying to find homes for a litter of puppies. The mom is half afghan hound and half blue heeler. The dad is purebred afghan. I am trying to help them find homes for the puppies, and i was hoping to find homes that would fit the needs of that type of mix. I am paying to get the mother dog spayed, and im surprised they are even letting me. The pups are more of the color and will probably be more the size of an afghan, and they are short haired. Any idea on what their personalities will be like and whatever, would help. thanks.
I agree with the other writers - with mixed breeds there is no way to predict - what you see is what you get! You will have to assess each puppy as an individual, but with the combination of sighthound and herding dog they will have to go to homes with a properly fenced yard. Herding breeds also tend to be go-go-go all day breeds so these would be better suited to an active person or family with older children prepared to give the dog plenty of exercise.
