Are there any pug and chihuahua breeders near ma??

I am looking to find someone whom breeds both pugs and chihuahuas because my mother just has a litter of 11 champ bl phantom merle long haired chihuahua's and i am looking to trade one for a female pug...they are akc reg btw.

Go to www.akc.org, then click on breeder referral. This will take you to a page of links to official breed club websites. There, you can e-mail someone with the breed club and ask for a referral in your area. They will only refer you to very responsible breeders who have dedicated this lives to the favorite breed of dogs and know what they're doing breeding them and do it right, not puppy mills, commercial breeders, or other careless breeders who might have puppies with genetic diseases and behavior problems. Purebred doesn't neccessarily mean well-bred. Beware, because respritory and eye problems are common in poorly bred pugs, and behavior problems are common in poorly bred chihuahuahs. Good, responsible breeders genetically screen their dogs and only breed the healthiest ones.

Good, responsible breeders usually specialize in one breed of dogs and learn everything there is to know about their favorite breed. Some responsible breeders may specialize in two breeds, so it won't be impossible to find a responsible breeder who breeds both pugs and chihuauas, but depending on where you live, you might have to travel. If a breeder has more than two, or at the absolute maximum three breeds of dogs, don't buy from them. Breeders who have a lot of different breeds are usually just in it for profit, not for quaility. There are exceptions, but they are rare. Responsible breeders sell their puppies for higher prices, but because they do things right, they spend more money than they make on breeding their dogs. Also, if you can't find a chihuahuah AND pug breeder in your area, do not buy from someone who advertises that they will ship puppies. You need to see where your puppy is coming from and a responsible breeder will want to know where and to whom their puppies are going, and they won't sell to just anyone. Responsible breeders will make arrangements for you to travel to them and pick up a puppy in person, after they've talked to you and have a good feeling that you're going to take good care of the puppy. There are too many people breeding pugs with eye and respritory problems and WAY too many people breeding vicious and neurotic chihuauas, so be careful about who you're dealing with.
