hip scores 4 labradors???
i am desperate to get a chocolate lab..i've contacted a breeder that is going to have a litter available but the thing is her bitch who is having the litter her hip score is 18 which i know is high , the breeder says the dog(father) hip score is low which will bring the puppies down!!
has anyone got any information or advice for me , i'll be really grateful

The average hip score at present is about 15, and if she is mated to a dog with a lower hip score then the chances of any offspring having an high score is low.
You also need to see an up to date clear eye certificate, these need to be done every year. Labs can suffer from generalised progressive retinal atrophy, which doesn't show up until the pup is 3yrs or older. So you should ask to see certificates for both dogs, so you know that the pup you choose will not have a problem in later life.
