Is the CKC pet registry just for puppy mills?
I have found many site that have said the Continental Kennel Club is unmonitored and is just a way for puppy mills to charge more for their puppies. Does anyone have any accurate information?
The Continental Kennel Club is pretty much a "we'll take your word for it, tell us it's purebred and we'll give you a pedigree" registry, and would practically register a goat as a great dane if you paid them enough money.
There's a reason that they're called the "Con"KC. I wouldn't waste my money on a registration from them, and I wouldn't buy a dog whose breeder was either so ignorant or so desperate that they think a ConKC registration means something.
Generally they're used by people who, for one reason or another, are unable or unwilling to register their dogs with the AKC or another reputable registry, but want to say that their dogs are "registered" in order to charge more for them to unsuspecting people who don't know any better.
