2 Questions on a baby ferret.?
My daughter just got a ferret, well me being the animal lover I am fell in-love with it, my questions are-is it better to get a baby ferret from a breeder or like at Petsmart, Petland or a Pet store? Now the next question What is the age you can get a baby ferret, I know dogs are around 8 weeks or so, I would like one as soon as you take it from their mother. OK, 1 more question sorry, does anyone know where you can find on in Ohio around Dayton/Columbus, I have looked on line but I can't really find anything. Thanks...
A breeder would be best as they handle them more often than ina pet store. (ferrets needs loads of handling when they are young to stop them from nipping). About 8weeks is when they can leave they're mother but like with puppies and kittens, 12 weeks is best as they have mother correction from their mother.
2 ferrets or more ferrets are best kept together as they are socible animals and love company. They don't cost alot more to keep, you get twice the fun.
I live in the UK so can't help you find one in Ohio, have you tried looking in rescue centres or your version of our R.S.P.C.A. Have you also tried asking at your vets, they may know of some breeders.

my parents really want a dog and want to find Munsterlander breeder or a rescue in Columbus Ohio or somewhere in Ohio. if you find any kept informed. thanks. by the way im only 15 and the person who answered my first question. It's just a matter DUDE!
Is your planning the family to keep this pet to a dog or what. From what I was reading on different web page says that breeders prefer to keep as hunting dogs rather than a pet because they forget what their purpose. And if this race has only been in the U.S. since 1998 the chances that many of them rescues. I just found three breeders and there are none near Columbus, OH deadgame to feel and why it has to be so rude to each person to answer a question for you, I reported a couple of times and will continue, and hopefully others will see this report and you too.
