Laws to protect dogs from Bad Breeders?
Are there any laws in New York to prohibit a "backyard breeder" from continually breeding and selling dogs known to have hip dysplasia, heart problems, and so on? Does anyone regulate this? Who would it be reported to? I've made several complaints, but it seems that "it's not our problem"
There are no laws to control which dogs you breed to each other..There is only civil court.
If more buyers would take the breeder to court, with a well-prepared case, especially if they do homework and find others who have been sold heartaches wrapped in puppy clothing, they will win, and the breeder will desist or at least become more responsible.
The wallet is always the most effective deterrent to malpractice.

Back yard breeder complaint:?
Hi everyone who is reading feel free to add anything you like .. I have a family member who did not speak to each other b / c of his works, anyway that breeds rottweilers that are not AKC registered or even close to the breed standard to breed for profit and are now locked on the outside back of your business i can only hope no shelter, your dog is very aggressive about my little brother 3 years old, I act because I was very protective dealing with family looked at me like WTF? I want to call an animal shelter in them, but because they are afraid of blood and I'm sure well aware that I was.
Do not call Animal Control. There is little they can do nothing but go talk to your family. Call the Humane Society or ASPCA. And tell them the situation. It is not uncommon for them to detect and control a breeder and I'm sure they'd say if I said that would cause problems in the family. But please make calls. That is horrible, but unfortunately, not so uncommon. What worries me is that you were the only annoying when the dog almost bit about your brother. What? The value of the income they do not care if you have an aggressive dog can hurt a child? Good for you for defending their land. But any calls, or get a good friend to do it. Best of luck.
