Dog Breeders Denver Q&A

So we went to the pound today. Do labs usually jump straight up?

I took my mum to the pound today [I've been begging to go for the past month], because a family friends' dog was taken from them because he ran away a few too many times.
We went to see if they had him up for adoption [on monday!!], because we have his sister; and we wanted to make sure the "breeder" we got them from didn't try to take him.
Thankfully, for the last part, they wouldn't let him take Koda because the breeder's dogs aren't fixed [obviously].
ANYWAYS.

So we went through the entire place looking for him, and we stopped to look at all the other dogs as well.
They had a Lab mix named Denver there. He had a huge knack for jumping straight up while we were talking to him/about him.
Why would he do that? Excitement, I'm sure. Any other reason?
What dogs do that out of excitement? Any certain breeds?

It was weird and amusing at the same time, and we stood there for 3 minutes watching him do it!
Well, yeah. That's it.
Any ideas?

He's probably overexcited about the attention - living in a cage nearly 24/7 will do that to you. Besides, I'm sure he's not getting the exercise he should be, especially if he's young.

To answer your breed question, sometimes herding breeds like Australian Shepherds and Border Collies are a little springy, but many dogs would do that given the circumstances. It's more of an individual thing than a trait from any certain breeds.

Dog Breeders Denver Q&A

Oh, my God, cousins' dog on me!?

My cousins have this Golden Retriever named Denver, if you remember. We thought it was a child. I just found out, not just a boy, a girl too! My mom just told me. Apparently, one of the testicles do not drop so that took him to the vet. When they were operating at neutral or something (my mom does not quite describe it well) that found that female reproductive organs is well! So, uh ... How common is this in dogs? What do you think this is more of a sign that the breeder be a BYB? If you do not remember s / he came from a "puppy farm" and was considered a white gold, and got it because it was cheaper than dogs girl. It is not only wrong woman as a man, is somewhat! I've seen with my own eyes, s / he has a penis haha. However, according to the vet there are things beyond what the human eye can see. This is bothering me because I have no idea what to write, I always thought of it as one that I will continue to writing that ...

Here is a very good and simple explanation of this rare condition. Http: / / www.petplace.com/dogs/hermaphrodite-and-pseudohermaphrodite-in-dogs/page1.aspx It does not happen very often, but the article explains the genetic screw up!
