are they reputable breeders in the back of dog magazines?
i just read this q about no reputable breeder advertises in a newspaper:

my q is, in magazines like Dog Fancy for example, they have a breeder directory in the back with breeders for every dog breed. are these reputable and trustworthy? or possibly puppymills or just poor breeders?
lol, i had always thought they must be good. but then you wrote how good breeders would have owners lined up already. so made me wonder.
I think there are some.For instance,Kimbertal and House of Hoytt are quite famous for their Dobermans. There are some good ones on line as well. A friend of mine who just lost her Yorkie got a retired champion Yorkie from a kennel that I found for her on line,and the breeders are very conscientious - they do not breed 'teacups",they sell with a spay/neuter contract,do genetic testing,etc.Here's the link to their kennel,and another for Labs. See how nice they keep their dogs and puppies. You still have to be careful,though.
