Dog Breeders Fort Worth Q&A

Show rat or Show cavy breeders in TX?

i am looking into a show rat or cavy do you know a breeder around Dallas Fort Worth?

do they register them like dogs? ive heard yes and no depending on the registry.

Here is the link to the American Rabbit Breeders Association breeds page (they register and show cavies as well): http://www.arba.net/Breeds.htm
The cavy breeds are located at the bottom of the page, clicking on a breed will take you to the national breed association's webpage. I'd imagine from there they would have breeder directories, a list of shows in your area that could put you in contact with breeders, or something similar.

Also, I'm not 100% sure if the cavy registry is the same as the rabbit registry. I am fairly certain it is, however, so this is how the rabbit registry works.
You keep pedigrees of your own animals by listing the ear tag number, breed, color, weight, and any accomplishments/registration numbers of their ancestors. You keep track of your own animals by numbered ear tags. A three-generation pedigree is all you need to consider your cavy purebred.
In order to be registered, your animal needs this pedigree, and must be looked over by a cavy registrar. The registrar will make sure your animal has no disqualifications and is generally a good example of their breed. You will then be given a registration number for that animal if they pass inspection (I believe they tag the other ear with this number).
Cavies do not need to be registered to show, but they need to be registered to obtain a Grand Championship.

Show Display rat or guinea pig breeders in TX?

i am looking for a rat show or cavy breeder know about Dallas-Fort Worth? not registered like dogs? I've heard yes and no depending on the record.

Here is the link to the American Rabbit Breeders Association races (to register and show guinea pigs as well): http://www.arba.net/Breeds.htm is the same as registration of a rabbit. I'm pretty sure it is, however, so this is how the registration of a rabbit. Still genealogies of their own animals indication of ear-tag number, race, color, weight and any achievements and registration numbers of their ancestors. Keeping track of their own animals by marks Headphones counted. A three-generation pedigree is all you need to consider their pure-bred guinea pigs. To be registered, the animal needs this pedigree, and should be seen by a registrar of guinea pig. The Registrar will ensure that your animal has no disqualifications, and in general a good example of his race. Then be given a registration number for that animal if it passes the inspection (I think the label of the other ear to this issue.) Guinea pigs no registration required to show, but they must be registered for a Grand Championship.
