Dogs in Kaiserslautern area?
I currently moved to the Ramstein, Germany, and I am looking for a dog. I realize there is a tierheim close by, but they don't have any small dogs currently and they apparently don't get them very often. I have also checked the KA.
I do plan on keeping this dog and not abandoning it when I leave Germany.
Can anyone tell me places that have dogs for sale or where I might find breeders?

ANYWAY...
I was stationed in Germany (Baumholder). And we got one of our dogs from K-town (kaiserlautern). If you go to the post pound, they should have some, if not keep checking with them. Call weekly and stuff. The pound is by the kids zone. If not try the stars and stripes. You can check the classifieds on line.

I wouldn't really try the tierheim, unless you really want to. They tend to not adopt animals out to Americans because they know we deploy and pcs and leave pets behind. just keep in mind they do cost when it's time to ship. We paid about 200-300 euro for our dog to come back to the states..

What should I do? (Get another dog)?
While this is what is happening. The laboratory of the family is quite old and my mom would really like to get another dog to stay with me when I'm home. We have 6 dogs now (it's a madhouse here hehe). All dogs are rescues (except one). My mom has been working as a technician veterinarian for about 8 or 9 years in the same place so it is quite well known. My family was offered a free puppy from a nice German shepherd breeder of your next litter mention that sell their puppies for about 500 to 900 depending on the puppy which is a very good deal. These dogs are like the top of the line from a line of dogs over in Germany and formed Schnitzer. Its just that i support shelters but it would be great to have a new puppy. What should I do?
