Does anyone know where to get Yorkshire terrier puppies in Michigan?
I have found a couple breeders in Michigan but am looking for puppies that are not purebred. I am struggling to find anyone that has puppies ready to adopt without purebred AKC papers. We had a yorkie that wasn't a purebred and it was the best dog!!!

I would prefer to adopt a puppy that is not $1000 and i will love it no matter if it is a purebred or not. I don't need a label or champion blood line to make me love a puppy and i know there are many breeders who are careless but why should those puppies not get a home because of their faults. I'm just having difficulty finding a litter.

In that case there are a ton of mutts in shelters all around the Great Lakes. Check out http://www.petfinder.org ; simply type in your zip code and see what kind of dogs pop up in your area. I'm certain you'll find one with a good personality who will fit your lifestyle.
If you still want a purebred Yorkshire terrier, then you'll want one from a breeder who registers with the AKC, shows their dogs (to ensure they are sound and look like a Yorkshire should) and who tests for congenital disease. Check here for good breeders: http://www.ytca.org/breeder3a.html#MI
Do NOT buy from people who sell dogs on the internet or who resort to posting ads on craigslist.com or newspapers - those are backyard breeders/puppy mills, and those dogs most often have major inherited genetic disease, which is painful, expensive to treat, and sometimes fatal.
