we rescued what we thought was a golden retriever but met a woman who said he was a nova scotia retriever i need some help with info on him we are in scotland and would like to know if there is any breeders in scotland/england who can give advice on him he ticks all the boxes regarding his characteristics and looks/behavior he is not k.c reg is this because the uk kennel club don't recognize them?? i don't no help please

They are a KC recognised breed and have a UK breed club.
They are very different from Golden Retrievers and much smaller, different temperament and usually with a few white markings. See the link.
If he is not registered it is unlikely he is a NSDTR, but probably a crossbreed or poorly bred Golden.
