Is it best to get a dog from a shelter or breeder?
Hi, we are looking for a medium size dog for our family, 2 adults, 2 young children. Maybe a Lab or Labaradoodle.
Where would be the best place to get one from? I like the idea of geting one from an animal shelter, but im worried that it might snap at one of the children if it has been abused in the past.
I live in Manchester UK if anyone knows of a good place, Thanks
Rescue a Lab/poodle mix if you want, but please for the love of all dogs DO NOT got a 'breeder' for a 'Labradoodle'.
Why?
No responsible breeder ever breeds purebred Labs to Purebred poodles. Ever.
I have never seen a labradoodle breeder that ever health tested thier breeding stock (no vet checks do not count as helath testing.) OFA, CERF, ect health testing.
Labradoodle breeders are just in it for the money.
Many of their puppies most likely end up in shelters and rescues across the UK.
There is nothing wrong with wanting a mutt, just make sure you are giving your money to a shelter/rescue for one and not a puppymiller.

Where I can see the puppies?
Is there a place I can see the puppies in Manchester, UK? Like a dog house or large farmers, to see different species of dogs and puppies. Somewhere nice and big and safe. Close Preferaby to denounce or near the center of the city
I would suggest manchester dogs home or other local shelter. will Puppies of all kinds to display. Least I hope this helps:)
