Dog Breeders Mexico Q&A

Which One? Green Cheek Conure -or- Quaker Parrot?

Okay, so my family and I live in the way back in this hellhole called an apartment. I don't have to worry too much about loudness because EVERYONE around us is loud beginning at 3AM to 12 Midnight. Our dog is loud as @^#& and we have no complaints(probably because they can't hear him over their own loud crap) Birds are allowed here just as long as they aren't let loose outside, which won't happen.

So there are two breeders out here in New Mexico, they both sell quakers, but only one sells green cheeks. They have both when spring comes, and the regular green cheeks are about the same price as the green quakers.

What type of food, toys, perches, and all other bird accessories do i get and where do I buy them?

So my question is which one do I get? Which one is ideal for a semi-first time bird owner? Which one fits a cage 18x20x18? Any and all information is needed and appreciated by me and my family, who really wants a bird. Please and thank you :)

Birds are not for everyone. Before making any decision, be sure that you are committed to giving a bird what it needs - good food, veterinary care by a certified avian vet, lots of toys, scrupulously clean cage/dishes/toys, and lots of bird-friendly attention. Are you willing to educate yourself on birds - their behaviors, how to and how not to handle a bird, how to handle hormonal behaviors, how to stimulate their minds, how to recognize a sick bird? I have approx. 70 birds, most of which are 2nd/3rd/4th/etc birds. Why? The previous owners didn't know what they were getting into when they got the bird or they got "tired" of it. Many of these birds were abused. I know. I have way to many birds but they are all well taken care of, their cages are clean, they're fed every day, they get fresh food, they all get attention (somehow) and they have a ton of toys!
Both of the birds you are considering are capable of living 20+ years. Are you going to commit to that? If not, then don't bother getting one.
You can't treat a bird like you do a cat or a dog and they don't react like them. Cats and dogs are predators. Birds are prey. They have a totally different outlook on their surroundings.
I could go on and on but I'll get off my soap box now and answer your question.
So far it seems that quakers are favored. And I do not like the suggestion that a cockatiel is a "starter bird". Cockatiels are my first love and they're very sweet - both the males and the females. Also, the cost of the actual bird is not as much. So are parakeets (budgies). Did you know parakeets are considered better talkers then African Greys? But just remember, no matter the reputation of the species, your particular bird may not be a talker.
Anyway, if it's truly between a green cheek and a quaker, it's hands down for the green cheek. Why? Quakers can become extremely territorial of their cage. This can be true of many birds, but quakers do have a reputation of territoriality. They are also very strong-willed birds and are not generally for the novice bird owner. Don't get me wrong. I've known some very nice quakers but they've all had territorial issues to some extent and they've all been strong-willed. Their like the terriers of the bird world!
Green cheeked conures are not only of the quiet conure family, which believe me a bird's noise level does matter, I swear they are sweetness incarnate! They are not known for their talking ability but can learn to talk. My green cheek sits inside my shirt and pokes his head out of the neck, climbs down my shirt sleeve and pokes his head out there, sits on my head, "talks" on the phone (my sister calls him static), loves baths, loves to share whatever I'm eating, etc. etc. They do tend to attach themselves to one person, however, so alot of continual socialization with other people is a must. I'm sure there are green cheeks that are not that way, but I personally have not met a green cheek that wasn't a sweety.
Just remember. All that I've said depends so much on the individual bird. Each bird has it's own personality, just like people. You need to love the bird for what the bird is - not what you want it to be or expect it to be.
The best way to pick a companion bird or dog or cat is to meet them and interact with them. Several times if possible before choosing. I find that the matches made in heaven are when the bird (cat/dog) is the one who picks the owners!!
The size of cage and # of toys? Depends on how much the bird is going to be out and with you. If the bird is going to be in the cage the majority of the time, go big. I'd use a 18x20x18 cage only if the bird was just going to be sleeping in it. Toys? Not just 2 toys. Please. They're extremely intelligent and need a good variety of toys and perches. Just remember to leave room in the cage for the bird!! I do agree that toy rotation is important.
Good luck in your decision. If I lived anywhere near you, I'd invite you to come to see my household. You'd then be able to see many different types of birds, how they act, how they react, etc. But the last time I checked a map, Minnesota is no where near New Mexico!!

Dog Breeders Mexico Q&A

Is this a good case?

I have a ADBA (American dog breeder) dog. I met a guy who also had the same breed as mine and we did a verbal agreement on breeding our dogs, my dog has since had her puppies at birth. The agreement was give two cubs in exchange for dog registration # and a signature for recording arena. It has been 5 months and I am ready to file a claim on your ass. Givi I have more than enough time to get my things and now I'm out in about 5000 including immunization of U.S. dollars selling puppies and feed them .. I have stuck to my part of the deal and I told him that he has a week to get my paper and I will be presenting against him, then he told me he was going to come here today to fight me instead of not know what to do and my case is even worth it to court I live in the state of New Mexico that if even matters ..

what kind of thread to yourself by 1. Noterizer not have an agreement stating the terms of the "verbal agreement" 2. giving the pups to it before receiving the agreement. I do not know what to do ..... You could try your case is based on verbal agreement, but then only becomes a he said she said something .... be a difficult case
