I bought a puppy for $275 at pet store.The dog got sick the next day and was diagnosed with parvo.Who pays?
I bought a 13 week old basset hound.He was healthy.We got him home and late that night he began vomitting.We carried him to the vet and they kept him for 9 days with an estimate of $200.00 per day treatment for parvo.He was tested with definite parvo.The bill came back at $780.00.The pet store only had him for 24 hrs. and they say they will only pay 1/2 the cost of the dog($280.00 / 1/2 =$140.00)They say there is a "pet lemon law" that protects them??The breeder is avoiding our calls now!Who should pay?Is the law definitely on my side?We are prepared to go to court but would rather convince them to pay the vet bills.Any advice would be appreciated.
The pet store pays - a lemon law would actually protect you! It's not you're problem the pet store only had the dog for 1 day. If they want to take the breeder to court or make them pay, that's THEIR business. They owe you the full $$.

Are there different types of Pekingese?
I'm wanting a Pekinese dog, but I know there are plenty of Pekingese dogs get to have an impermeable layer such as the picture on the link below, http://www.gotpetsonline.com/pictures-gallery/dog-pictures- breeders-puppies-rescue/pekingese-pictures-breeders-puppies-rescue/pictures/hi-res-pekingese-0057.jpg I want one with Hair fluffy like the picture in this link! http://www.dogomania.com/gallery/breeds/1012925965.html So my question is .. "How I can know before I can buy the dog of the type of hair you have? Do different types have different names or something? I really do not want one with the straight hair, and I like to spend that amount of money on something you do not want! Does anyone know how to prevent the wrong type of Pekingese? "
Welcome to my world I am a dog groomer and have to explain over and over again, what your experiencing is well educated pekes spoiled Pekingese has a huge coat, and raised the poor are much more similar to Layer a Tibetan spaniel you have to do is see the parents and ask the breeder take my advice, but with better shelter dogs often have worse personalities, dogs with layers plane tend to be much easier to handle and are generally more sociable and playful
