Dog Breeders Tucson Q&A
Is this a dog breeder or a scam?
This lady says that she docked all of her chihuahuas tails
But she has NO website (This is a classified ad I came across when looking for a new chi.), NO phone number, NO pictures, and The name is "Terrence Woodgates."
Here's the link:
http://www.classifieds.ivarta.com/Tucson-Cuttie-Chihuahua-pups-Puppies-Dogs/58852.htm
Is this just a scam?
EDIT: Should I report it as a scam?
Obviously, she's either selling mixed breeds and calling them pure bred...
...or she's one of those "Cons" that take your money and give you nothing in return.
Yes.
Reason #1: They dock tails. If they were truly breeding to better the Chi breed, they would be showing in conformation to prove the dogs are structurally healthy. Having tails docked is a disqualification for showing, so obviously they don't.
Reason #2: They are advertising in a classified. Responsible dog breeders frequently have a good reputation in the area (city, state, region, whatever) for having dogs that are healthy, well-cared for, and sound. People go out of their way to find them; they dont have to advertise in the paper to place their puppies. A lot of times, you will see responsible breeders have long waiting lists just for getting a puppy. Especially with Chis and other small breeds; they are in high demand and have small litters.
Look here for a good breeder: http://www.chihuahuaclubofamerica.com/cca_breeder_directory.htm
They may be more expensive, but they have health clearances, are less likely to have genetic problems, and will *usually* be socialized well.

This lady says she landed all chihuahuas queues:. (But has no website (This is an advert I found in the search A new chi), phone number, NO pictures, a scam? EDIT: Should I report it as a scam? Obviously, she either selling mixed breeds and call them purebred ... ... Or she is one of the "contras" that money and give nothing in return.
Yes Reason # 1: spring tails. If they were really breeding to improve the breed Chi, shown in conformation to demonstrate that dogs are structurally sound. Tails docked after a disqualification show, so obviously do not. Reason # 2: This is advertising in a classification. Responsible dog breeders often have a good reputation in the area (city, state, region, whatever) for dogs that are healthy and well cared for, and sound. People leave their Chis and other small breeds, which are in high demand and have small litters. Look here for a good breeder: http://www.chihuahuaclubofamerica.com/cca_breeder_directory.htm They can be more expensive but they have health permits, are less likely to have genetic problems, and usually * be well socialized.
