Dog Breeders Wi Q&A
Is Willow River Farm a good breeder for mini aussies? (site included)?
I want to purchace a toy or miniature Australian Shepherd form here. They are located in Menominie, WI and we live very close to this. Would it hurt to come visit them. does it seem like a stable place to purchace a puppy from? Thanks, and we have had many rescues but for the last couple rescues they have had issues we could not fix such as agressiveness toward other dogs, seperation anxiety, habit of running away, afraid of EVERYTHING, to rough withthe kids etc. We have desided to purchace from a breeder andstart out small.

There are NO responsible, reputable mini-Aussie breeders.
I'll look at the website and give you a few comments.
1. I see no information regarding registration.
2. Why do they have a link to the Australian Shepherd breed standard when they are PURPOSELY breeding outside the standard? These dogs are NOT Aussies.
3. I see no information regarding health testing. I was unable to find any OFA records under their kennel name. http://www.offa.org/results.html?all=Willow+River
4. I see no information regarding guarantees

I do not give you lots of information about pomeranians, but I can say some things about Butterflies. ======== How are they? Papillons are small dogs can be great for waiting. They are the perfect dog for me, but not for everyone. *** If you want a calm lapdog or a stuffed dog, do NOT get a papillon. Not be a good choice for you. *** Top 10 reasons why not get a papillon: http://pap911.rescuegroups.org/info/display?PageID=2924 Papillons are very easy temperaments adventerous. From the description of the AKC breed, "Happy, alert and friendly. Neither shy nor aggressive." Http: / / www.akc.org/breeds/papillon/ Butterflies are very intelligent (sometimes too much for his own good!). They are in the top 10 smartest dog breeds. Http: / / petrix.com/dogint/1-10.html One more "trainable" breeds. Toy http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/papillons.html Here is your rainbow of colors to choose from: It http://www.braylorspapillons.com/colors.htm is a very demanding and dependent dog. You may not like to cuddle, but they like to be near you and love to play. Paps will literally come up and implement one of toys to the face to get to play with them. They are also tricksters and find a way of trying to manipulate their owners. If you're not supposed to have something, they will try make it look like they have one of their toys and hide the "forbidden object" behind it. My pap also tricked my parents poodle when I was dog sitting for them a couple of weeks ago. She would go to the door and bark so the poodle would reduce the toy had to see what the commotion was about, then My dad would redraw the recalled toys. Papillons need to be encouraged. There are dogs that can be left to their own. Need training and thrive when have a "job" such as obedience or agility. (If you want to get into agility, are the best option in their height category. You can even beat the Border Collie times on some courses, but due to the difference in size, never will be competing against border collies.) Also be aware that they are dogs athletic and can accomplish things that normally do not think the size of a dog can. For example, my papillon can jump high enough to steal things in the kitchen. She can go at least 4 feet into the air. Papillons come in two varieties, the "butterfly" (papillon) and "moth" (Phalene). http://www.areakode.com/abbyful/ http://www.westminsterkennelclub.org/breedinformation/toy/papp.html Segami / puppy / papillon_phalene.jpg --- GROOMING Paps require regular grooming, but not wide. In addition to the normal dog stuff (clip nails, brush teeth, etc.) need to brush a few times a week. In addition, the hair between the pads on their feet long, so you have to cut at least once a month. Use a bristle brush, not a slicker brush.
