Any small dog breeds for beginners?
I'm considering getting a maltese or maltipoo for a puppy. I know that a golden retriever is a good dog for beginners but my mom doesn't want big animals in the house. She wants small ones that are still the size of puppies when they're adults. Any good breeds?
I'd like a dog that's not really hard to train or take care of.
a cocker from a reputable breeder, a mini-poodle, or a french bulldog are two great small-ish beginner dogs. A cocker is more independent than a bulldog, but more playful and obedient. the french bulldog loves attention but has some health problems. Poodle's are a very intellegent dog, they're great dogs if they're socialized. They tend to be a bit nippy though. The cocker, min-poodle, and frenchy the best tiny beginner dogs i can think of.

What dog breed good game?
So I have 15 years and want to get into the hunt (raccoons, small game, quail, ducks, squirrels, etc) and want to know what would be a good game beginner dog breed for me to hunt anything (besides beagles) I'm really interested in the red bone dog, but any information would be appreciated. also it would be a good weapon to start with, plus 22 thanks! Thanks guys! also the reason why I do not want beagle, because my dad bred for hunting for years and I just want something a little different.
I have had many laboratories, many in black and chocolate. They were big game dogs. They excel in hunting birds water. But the best hunter I've ever had was a Brittany Spaniel. There retrieve ducks and mountain birds flush. Just a great all around dog.
