Does feeding a dog soft food shorten their life span?
I was told by a co-worker that feeding my dog soft food would shorten her life span, but feeding her hard food hurts her teeth and when we wet the hard food it stinks and she wont eat it...
Do you mean canned dog food? Not very nutrient rich for them you are paying for expensive water content.............Kibble, well nicely shaped brown nuggets, whats in it? depends! It stinks so I will leave you to guess but I won't give you 10 out of 10 because you would possibly never guess the rubbish that goes into most kibble and most is not digestible or usable nutritionally by the dogs that eat it.
If you have to feed a kibble, make it a good one a super premium one , you feed less so it works out same price and you will tell almost instantly if it is good quality as what goes in, waste will come out....so there is very little 'waste' to clean up.
I feed BARF, but I know where the source of the meat is from.........and it is good quality not supermarket or even butcher meats, veg, fruit and brewers yeast & garlic so don't need to put chemical products on my dogs/cats or into them in the form of flea, tick or wormers.
