are english bull terriers dangerous?
i have an english bull terrier monty but some of my friends said that they are on the dangerous dog's list.is it alright to own an english bull terrier in the uk?i bought monty when he was 6months old off a breeder and he came with all the KC papers but i was just wondering
i know you can call them *bull terriers* like some one said very boldly but i prefer to call them by the full name,english bull terriers
Of course your Bull Terrier is dangerous. So are Labs, Chihuahuas and Beagles. They all have teeth and claws, don't they? Every single dog has the potential to be dangerous.
But anyway, your dog isn't really any more dangerous than a Yorkie. For the most part, a dog is a dog is a dog. Bully breeds do tend to be hardheaded and assertive, however. A lot of morons choose them because they seem tough, and they do a lousy job raising them. The poorly-bred, unsocialized, untrained bullies then, naturally, have behavioral problems. This lands them on "dangerous dog" lists, because a Bull Terrier with terrible training and socialization is reasonably likely to harm someone. (But, the same is true for most dogs.)
I haven't heard of Bull Terriers being banned through the entire UK, but such rules can vary by area. Check out the local dog laws.
