I've been looking for a yorkshire terrier female puppy about 7 monthes now. Does anyone know / is a yorkie breeder near Huntsville AL ... I do not want a puppy shipped. I want to buy from a local breeder throughout the Huntsville / Athens area of Al or the Tennessee Valley area. I would like the puppy is AKC registered and about 4.6 pounds full grown.
Breeders only worth buying in that show their dogs and do all the necessary genetic testing. This ensures you are getting a healthy puppy from a responsible breeder. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America has a breeder's reference on his website. http://www.ytca.org also you can try looking in a shelter. Yorkies are a very popular breed, so they are not particularly difficult to find. Go to http://www.petfinder.com to find shelter local. The YTCA also has a rescue, I believe.
