What's the best way to buy an Australian Shepherd?
I know for sure that in 3 months my husband and I are financially ready to buy an Aussie. Right now, no we don't even have the money to put down a $100 deposit on a puppy. The thing is, I don't want to end up buying a puppy the day I am ready for one by looking in the paper and maybe finding one from a puppy mill, I would rather buy one from a breeder that knows what they are doing. Even if the puppy is $1,000 (which is the going rate for an Aussie I have noticed) in 3 months I can afford that, but not right now. What should I do? What is the best way to go about this? Research and find out what puppies will be ready to be born in 3 months then buy one and hope she isn't taken already? or find the money some how to put down a deposit of 100-200 bucks so that I can get the sound puppy I want for sure in 3 months..?
If you can't afford the puppy, you can't afford a dog right now. Please wait until you are in a better financial position to take on a dog. Vet bills are horrendous these days and you will have vet bills. When you are ready for a dog either find a reputable breeder from the AKC Australian Shepherd Club web site or through Aussie Rescue, also found at the AKC web site. www.akc.org
