possibly made for TV movie. Staring a German Shepard training to Join the K-9 squad - can anyone tell me the name of that Movie - i thin kit was just the name of the Dog - and i think it started with an R or K ???? not sure
There's a comedy film titled "K-9" (1989), starring James Belushi.
IMDB summary:
Mike Dooley, who works on the San Diego narcotics squad, is working on a stakeout of drug kingpin Ken Lyman, and Mike barely escapes with his life as his car is blown up by a helicopter that was sent by Lyman. Later, Mike is given a partner -- a dog named Jerry Lee. Mike doesn't like Jerry Lee, but he begins to warm up to Jerry Lee when Jerry Lee shows how helpful he can be. Mike wants to know where Lyman's next drug shipment will take place, and Jerry Lee helps Mike. In order to keep Mike from messing up the shipment, Lyman has Mike's girlfriend Tracy kidnapped.

Is it a serious film? I'm not sure that they've done a Rin-Tin-Tin movie for TV like that, but there have been Rinty movies back to just after World War II, when the original dog was found in a German bunker, or so I recall. There also has been a TV series. So, maybe someone did make a movie about training a dog for a K-9 unit, but I haven't seen it. I'll look around.
I've been looking at all sorts of dog movies, but I haven't found a TV movie about a German shepherd undergoing training. I'll check some other sources.

Basic training tips for my German Shepherd?
I just a week ago I have never have owned one before. He is super smart. I fear that could become dangerous if not trained. Is that true? It is 7 to 8 months of age. Any advice is much appreciated!
Take the German Shepherd (as in sheep) puppy classes of obedience.
