aggressive german shepherd?
hi everyone! my husband is i the military and we have orders to move to germany, we have a 4 year german shepherd, we took him last saturday to see if we can train him, so we can take him with us, but that turned out very bad, he wanted to get the k9 officer but instead he attacked me, the trainer said not to waste my money on him, he is to aggressive he told me to put him down, well i really don't want to do that, if anyone knows of a german shepherd rescue who take aggressive dogs i would be so thankful..
i had my dog in a kennel when i had to go on emergency leave due a death in my family, when i picked up my dog he was a whole different dog, before he was just fine, was a big cuddle bear.
I do know of many GSD rescues; however no rescue I know of will take an aggressive dog who has bitten. Not only would it be a liability, it would be a danger to the public if they happened to rehome the dog.
If you do find a rescue willing to take your dog make sure to be completely honest. It's your responsibility to ensure that nobody is injured by this dog. If you surrender him to a shelter; be honest.
If your dog has been deemed aggressive by a professional and you are not willing to work through the issues or feel as if you cannot deal with the dog it may be best for you to consider euthanasia.
Now I have not seen this dog nor do I know if the dog is what I personally would consider aggressive. So I will not tell you what to do with him. Best of luck with your GSD.

When is the right time to have a rescue dog?
My husband and I are putting the house on the market to sell and move to another house, 3 weeks ago I had to have my 12 year old German Shepherd dog went to sleep, she had her 10 years and I'm still suffering for it, much less, but wish to have another GSD rescue, should I wait until we move, or have one? I appreciate any help and advice I can give.
Tough call, and at the end of the day is your decision. (Really glad that you want to rescue again however.) Personally, I expect. Moving house can be stressful for you and your dog. Christmas is not far off either and it can also be a confusing time for any dog. Those things, coupled with the fact that they are still mourning the loss of another dog tells me they have a lot on his plate as it is. Once you have settled in their new home, or at least once Christmas is out of the way, would probably be a better time. It is obvious from what has been published that really loved his GSD others will be great for the dog owners to side with. It would be worth having a word with the rescue people to discuss with them.
