Giant Schnauzer Dog Breeder Q&A

Dogs Diet?

I quite often see people on here debating which dog food is best. I was wondering everyones opinion on a natural diet for their dog. Raw ground beef, carrots, rice etc. My mom has been a dog groomer, shower, breeder for about 15 years and she has a male Giant Schnauzer which she feeds natural foods/dry dog food everyday. He's a very healthy dog. She also has mentioned that people have been noticing stomach cancer in their dogs with regular dry dog food, its not the best for dogs all the time. I realize it's not for everyone, you really have to know what a dog should eat before you can make it food everyday, or you may not be giving it the nutrients it needs. I try to feed my dogs healthy foods whenever I can, not just dry dog food, nothing that would throw their stomachs off and give them diarrhea, but they love some ground beef and carrots every once in awhile. Just wondering your opinons on this?

After HEAPS of research, my partner and I decided to put our dogs on a combination diet of BARF and premium dry food. Our BARF diet included the following:
(all blended together)
magoes
apples
pears
pumpkin
celery
sprouts
garlic (quite a bit)
carrot
capsicum
tuna in natural spring water
lambs liver & kidney
beef kidney
kangaroo mince (we live in Australia)
chicken mince and bone meal
beef mince
rice
pasta
2 dozen eggs, free range, shell and all
20kg bag of premium food was also mixed through.
(a couple of times a week they also get RAW bones, either chicken wings, or beef leg bones)
THey are given a daily probiotic, joint care and multi vitamin. They are fed less, less stools, and are looking fantastic.
If people do decide to go ahead witht he BARF diet, they MUST understand that they have to make it balanced, if they dont, they will cause all sort of dietary problems for their dogs.

Giant Schnauzer Dog Breeder Q&A

Does anyone have a Kerry Blue Terrier?

Can you tell me anything about that race. How does, and how his experience with race. I heard (List of TSN dog) that is odorless and does not shed and I Giant Schnauzer love watching. I am currently looking for reputable breeders in my province. I want one. I hope you do good with little dogs fo-fo = D Thanks. Thanks for the link!

No, I do not. But I do think they are a very good looking dog. ...... However I have seen in decades of conformation shows and learn more breeders. Are an example of a "terrier", aloof, independent, hard to train due to "Please I do not care" attitude, irritable and may be aggressive. A very difficult race. I've heard of several being put down due to aggression and .... not a "popular race on the numbers. I would think two times. A dog is not his appearance, but his temperament and personality. I recommend you go to shows and watch them, see how they respond to people and other dogs. Go visit breeders know the breed before committing, oh! I just noticed the last line "I hope they do well with small dogs fo-fo." It is no coincidence!
