so in my other question I asked about an english bulldog/apbt mix pup
about how much yearly does an extra puppy cost? we have 2 dogs now. a great dane and a boxer/airedale mix
how much do you think the other pup would cost yearly?
he/she is a shelter puppy
already fixed and has all appropriate shots and obedience is included in the adoption fee

Food for my dog (about 40 lbs) cost around $35 per month = $420 per year. This mix you are talking about will probably be about that weight if not more.
Plan on at least $150 (depending on where you live) for annual exam, heartworm test and medication, and vaccines or titers.
There is also the annual licensing fee that most towns have.
And extra for treats, the occasional toy, and any services that might be needed (dog walker, boarding, etc.).
So, at the very least, plan on $570 a year for the dog.

I called our local animal human society on a dog I say in line and was told that the cost of adoption were like $ 85.00 so it will be all I have to pay or there are no hidden costs since it has been in obedience training
Each human Sociey going to be different. Call back and ask what includes the adoption fee. Most shelters adoption fee covers basic vaccines (Distemper and Bordatella) and deworming. Sometimes animal will be altered or some things you have to pay for sterilization surgery. Work in human society and our adoption rate includes basic vaccines flea bath, preparation of base, the heart or a worming FeLeuk / FIV test and a microchip. We try to get as many animals fixed as funds we allow, otherwise the cost is covered by the adopter. Please remember that a Great Dane is a giant breed dog so if you think $ 85 is expensive for an adoption rate, remember that this race is going to eat giant lot, you need a large crate preventive, heartworm is based on the weight of dog
