I want to adopt a Great Dane, but I'm 5'2. Think it's a problem?
This is not fleeting thought, I have done extensive research and have met other Great Danes while training my other dog. Their temperament fits with my lifestyle perfectly. But I am aware that when it stands up on its hind leg it will be taller than me. I could use some opinions of other GD owners on how hard it may be for a short person to train a large dog.

It's not about your size its about training and on an untrained adult dog proper training tools. Just watch some of the breed rings at dog shows and you will see many small female handlers handeling the biggest breeds (Danes, Masitffs, St Bernards etc) If your get a puppy and properly train it you shouldn't ever have to worry about having to "out muscle" the dog. If you adopt and adult that needs traing you will have to look into the proper training tools, on a Great Dane I would recommend a pinch collar as oppose to a halti. With Danes being prone to CVI (wobblers) I just wouldn't take the the risk of pulling their neck around like a halti would if they hit the end of the leash a bit hard.
